To connect with my heritage on a deeper level, I created a book that explores what it means to be Nuyorican. The Nuyorican Movement began in the late 1960s, using art as a means to validate the Puerto Rican experience in New York City. This book highlights the history of Puerto Rican migration to New York City, the Nuyorican movement, and significant venues and organizations that keep the art and culture alive today. Personal photographs and interviews with working artists are included.
